It is my great pleasure to introduce to you Ngaru Moana, my dear friend Maxine Sutherland’s first official pattern release. This square is part of the Friends Around The World Crochet A Long which can be found by clicking this link. There are 33 squares in total for this CAL so you’re certain to get hours of enjoyment from it. The best part is the squares are made to work together with the border which will be released at the end so you can pick and choose which squares you’d like to work up. If you don’t fancy a particular one you can replace it with another one that you do like very easily.

I worked up two copies of this, one in Aran weight yarn which is what the pattern calls for and another in DK weight yarn.
Aran weight colorway (creates a 12 inch square):
Paintbox Simply Aran in Colors: 202 (Champagne White), 235 (Duck Egg Blue) & 236 (Dolphin Blue)
DK weight colorway (creates a 10 inch square):
StyleCraft Special DK in colors: Buttermilk, Khaki & Grape
I hope you enjoy working up this square as much as I have! It is a gorgeous square!
xoxo – Stephanie

I’m using the same hook as before but mine is pulling inward at the front posts. Should I use a bigger hook?
Front post stitches can do that sometimes. I’d suggest loosening your tension while working them to give them a little more wiggle room but they will pull back out as you work it I found.
