A couple weeks ago social media blew up in our niche over an outfit Dolce&Gabbana sent down the runway. The vast majority of the folks believe that two of the squares used to make up the outfit were taken from two of Janie Crow’s designs. I don’t have an opinion either way however I have decided to take this situation and use it as an example of why it is so important for designers of knitting and crochet patterns to file for copyright protection. Thanks so much! Your work here is invaluable to both creators and consumers. There are many ‘conscious consumers’ out here that want to know where our money really goes, and do understand all the hours involved in designing and publishing patterns. And of course designers NEED to hear this!
