Crochet Christmas Ball Ornament (Round 1)

Crochet Christmas Ball Ornament (Round 1)

*****IMPORTANT NOTICE*****

On March 18, 2022 Simplicity redesigned/revamped their entire website. Unfortunately they have chosen to not include the vast library of crochet patterns on the new version of their website. I have confirmed this via communication with Simplicity. I have attempted further contact with them to inquire about distributing this pattern to you all myself but they have not returned any communication since their initial notification to me that they had chosen not to include their crochet pattern library in their new design. I cannot express how upset I am at this decision and how sorry I am to all of you. Never in a million years would I have thought that a company as old as Simplicity would simply delete their crochet pattern library. If I had I absolutely would not have included this gorgeous pattern for our project. To those of you who managed to download the pattern during the window before their redesign please hold onto it. I’ve tried to locate the pattern else where on the internet for over a week with no luck. For those of you who missed the window I apologize from the bottom of my heart. Please stick around for the rest of the project. We have many more beautiful ornaments coming your way.

It is time for Project Panache to kick off! Every three weeks for 11 rounds we will be working on a new Christmas Ornament together. I hope you enjoy this beautiful ornament we’ve selected for round one and that you’ll join us on this adventure.

Materials Needed:

1 Ball Ornament, measuring 10″ in circumference. I purchased these but you can always repurpose old ornaments you already have!

Size 10 Crochet Thread. Each ball uses about 1 oz and I made six. I used one ball each of Aunt Lydia’s Classic Crochet Thread Size 10 Solids in the colors cream and copper mist.

1.5 mm Steel Crochet Hook. I used this Clover Soft Touch Hook.

A Tapestry Needle for weaving in those ends

Optional Ribbon for finishing. I used this 1/4 inch ribbon in the colors copper and ivory.

The free pattern for this ornament can be found here. There are no videos for this pattern but it is extremely simple. I have faith that all of you will be able to make this project with ease! I hope you enjoy making these as much as I have. Please do not forget to share your photos with us in the Facebook Group if you’re a part of it! We love to see your makes!
